Most Sprinter/Crafter single swivel plates are designed to work alongside another single seat rather than a double, they usually require modifications to be made to enable them to work alongside a double passenger seat, for example the plastic usually requires trimming off the bottom edge of the drivers seat, modifiactions need to be made to double seatbelt receiver which catches when being spun due to the fact they are fixed on a offset pivot point. This swivel base plate has been designed to allow the drivers seat to swivel alongside the standard double passenger seat without having to make any modifications other than lowering the handbrake, it works on a similar system as our double swivel, four thumb screws need to be removed which then allows it swivel on it's front to back/side to side slot which enables you to manipulate the pivot point to miss any obstructions. The positives of this system are. 1 Very sturdy with no rattles and no parts to wear out, swivels on a nylon 6 self lubricating pad for a lifetime of service. 2 Heavy duty ultra Low profile, raises the seat by just 36mm (lowest on the market as it has no complicated roller bearings). 3 Unlike most swivel bases currently available which have an off-set pivot point to allow 180 degree movement, using the slot system allows the seat to be positioned central to the seat box and back to the steering wheel once swivelled, maximising that all important space. 4 Fits driver or passenger seat, LHD or RHD. The central pivot bolt is hollow to accomodate any electrical wiring that needs to be passed through. This base comes complete with a handbrake lowering plate, the handbrake lowering plate is designed to lower the handbrake by 40mm, this is because the top of the handbrake rests proud of the seat base and interferes with the lower trim of the driver seat when rotating, the handbrake will still need to be in the lowered position when the drivers seat is swivelled.

The handbrake lowering plate is not compatible with the rear plastic trim which is fitted to the handbrake on some vehicles, if you have this you will need to make modifications by removing some of the inner edge or replace it with flexible leather type trim, our test van was fitted with this trim, if you look at the last picture you can see the modification we had to make. Pleas ensure your seat/box is the same as that in the pictures, there were a couple of variations but this version is by far the most common. Our base was Tested at VOSC (Vehicle Occupant Safety Center, Wolverhampton Science Park) to ECE Regulation 4.07/EC Directive 76/115/EEC as Amended by 2005/42EC Seat Belt Anchorage Test, and comes complete with a laminated copy of the certificate.
