MK1 Golf 2.3 V5 1980 Series 1

  

Believe me when I say I have a genuine reason - a 76 swallowtail in a very rare colour. I have since modified it, had work done to it, sourced rare parts for it and enjoyed it for the sleeper it has become, including a very large bill for the engine conversion done by Crazy Quiffs. Here is a list of all the parts and work it's had since owning it, and I think you'll agree it has had a good amount of work done.

Mk1 golf series 1 inari silver vr5 2.3 20v 180ish BHP. Shell has done 81,000 miles, engine 113,000 miles. NOS wings, front panel skirt. OEM US spec bumpers with NOS chrome overriders.

OEM US spec steering wheel. OEM gear shift pattern 4 speed ashtray and 4 speed gearknob. NOS fifft semi smoked rear lights. Powder coated G60 Steels with NOS centre caps. 2.3 V5 20V engine.

V5 20v engine on crazyquiffs mounts. New gear stick made to look OEM.

New mk2 golf driver speedo cable. New ignition barrel and switch. New GTI fuel filter and fuel pump. New 16v Mk2 GTI servo.

Retrofication pedal box converted to hydraulic clutch. New clutch and dual mass flywheel. Wiring loom spliced and ECU decoded. New Large aluminium radiator with NOS mk1 tank. New steering rack and track rod ends, Gators. New Hardknocks custom stainless exhaust from the downpipes. New battery tray mounted in boot with new battery and wiring. New intake pipe and filter.

New water pipes, thermostat and housing. New S1 dash headlamp switch. Ally sump has been customised with a 5mm thick plate tig welded to help stop any camber in the road penetrating it. Engine bay has been smoothed and repainted in original colour. New front end and wings.

Inlet manifold painted to match car. Engine and gearbox painted black. This car was made to look original other than having a more powerful engine, loud exhaust and a few other parts like the bumpers. It does as some point require a respray, that was one of the things on my list. I can take parts off the car that will affect the price like the bumpers (I have a stock black set somewhere).
